Hired on February 1st, 2010, Michael Dye enters his first season as the new Head Coach of Brewton-Parker College.  Before accepting this position he was the assistant men’s coach at West Texas A&M University from 2009-2010.  Primarily working with the defense and goalkeepers, the Buffs were consistently ranked #1 in the nation among all DII schools in goals against and shutouts.  During his time at WT, Coach Dye helped the team to finish the season with a program’s highest NCAA National Ranking of #3 in the country, a 15-2-2 record, and a share of the LSC Conference Title.  During that time the Buffs advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA National Tournament, falling to the eventual top-ranked National Champions, Ft. Lewis 1-3.  The Buffs received many awards for their efforts on and off the field during the 2009-2010 season.  For their efforts in the classroom, the team received the NSCAA Team Academic Award, and saw three players named to the Daktronics All-American Team and 4 players named Academic All-Conference.  In addition, Coach Dye helped develop 10 All-Conference, one All-Region, and one Region Player of the year.

Coach Dye began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, MidAmerica Nazarene University from 2006-2009.  During the 2006 season, the Pioneers advanced to the NCCAA National Tournament, sweeping all opponents to take home the NCCAA Division 1 National Title.  Working with the defense and goalkeepers, the Pioneers did not conceive a single goal in their post-season run.  In the 2007, Coach Dye helped the Pioneers advance to the 2nd round of the NAIA National Tournament, falling to the top-ranked eventual National Champions, Azusa Pacific 1-3.  In the 2008 season, Coach Dye helped the team receive their highest NAIA National Ranking of 12th in the country and a share of the HAAC Conference Title.  During his time at MNU, Coach Dye assisted in the development of nine All-Americans, two Scholar All-Americans, 13 All-Region, and 16 All-Conference athletes. 

In addition to MNU and WT, Coach Dye also coached for one season with the Kansas City Legends Soccer Club.  He then went on to become the Club Director for the Gardner Legends Soccer Club, overseeing the development of six teams. He has also worked with both boys and girls in their development as Christian athletes with the Chicago Eagles in sports ministry. 

During his collegiate career, Coach Dye played goalkeeper at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas.  He transferred his sophomore year and went on to play goalkeeper for the next three years at MidAmerica Nazarene University.  He left MNU with numerous honors including: NAIA 3rd Team All-American, NAIA All-Region, First-Team All-Conference, Conference Defensive and Overall MVP, two-time NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) Honorable Mention All-American, and NCCAA All-Region.  Dye graduated from MNU having set numerous goalkeeping records. In three seasons, he posted 26 career shutouts and attained a 1.04 career goals-against average. Dye played in every match for the Pioneers, accumulating an overall career record of 43-16-5. 

Coach Dye earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and his Masters in Professional Counseling from MNU. He holds a National Diploma from the NSCAA. 

He currently resides in Mount Vernon with his wife, Jayme.
