(July 7, 4:00 p.m.): The storm damaged some equipment over the weekend. The switchboard has been repaired and everything should be working now. |

(July 7, 9:30 a.m.): We are currently experiencing problems with the switchboard. The switchboard/operator is unable to answer calls directly, however if you call the toll-free number or the local number and enter your party’s extension, you will be transferred to them. If you need to reach someone at the switchboard/post office, dial extension 3285. We have placed a service call to Alltel and hope to resolve this problem soon. Thanks for your patience. |

(June 12): We have recieved the parts and have made the necessary repairs so Friendship Resident Hall network should now be up. |

(June 10): The Friendship Resident Hall network will be down until further notice. We are in the process of ordering the necessary parts in order to resolve the issue.
(Update June 11): The parts should be in by noon Thursday, June 12th. |

(March 17): Blackboard was successfully upgraded and is back online. This upgrade fixed several issues with Microsoft Vista and Office 2007 including the missing text box issue and the problem with Office 2007 files being downloaded as zip files. |

(March 14): Blackboard will be down during the morning on Monday, March 17th so upgrades to the system can be installed. We will send out notification once the upgrade is completed and the system is back up. |

(Jan 30): We need to bring the main network router down for about 10 minutes at 5:00 pm today. This will affect anyone from the outside accessing Blackboard, CampusWEB, or Email. It will be back up within 10 minutes. This does NOT affect anyone on the Mount Vernon campus. |

(Dec. 28): The logging system has been adjusted to prevent erroneous down time and logs have been improved to log the time a server goes down once and when it comes back up. |

(Oct. 12, 8:25 a.m.): The network on the main campus will be down and/or have intermittent access on Saturday, Oct. 13th from 7:30 AM until around noon so that we can do some updates to the main network switch. This will affect access to email, Blackboard, CampusWEB, and AIMS for everyone and Internet for those on campus. Once the updates are completed, an email will be sent to notify everyone that the network is back up. |

(Sept. 7, 2:15 p.m.): Unfortunately there was an issue and the reboot process has been delayed until 3:30 p.m. today. This process should take no more than 15 minutes and hopefully there will be no more unforeseen issues. We apologize for any inconvenience. |

(Sept. 5, 9:24 a.m.): The web site will be down for maintenance at noon, Friday, Sept. 7th. This process should take no more than 15 minutes barring any unforeseen issues. |

Update - May 4, 2007 - Blackboard will be shutdown for approx. 15 – 20 minutes sometime between 11:00 PM and midnight tonight. |

Update Complete - April 30, 2007 - We've completed some minor adjustments and improvements to Blackboard and will be keeping an eye on whether the issue with Blackboard has been resolved. If you see that Blackboard is down please call the helpdesk at (912) 583-3119 and leave an urgent message so that anyone on call will be able to respond.
Update - April 30, 2007 - We would like to bring Blackboard down at 4 p.m. today in order to try and resolve the problems we’ve been having with Blackboard. It should only be down no longer than an hour. If this will be a problem for any classes, please email or call Technology Services helpdesk and we can reschedule another time to bring it down.
Update - April 23, 2007 - We are planning to bring the Blackboard server down for maintenance today at 3 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes.
April 18, 2007 - We plan to reboot at noon today. This should only have Blackboard down for 5 minutes or less. |

April 18, 2007 - Blackboard has unexpectedly gone down several times in the past few days. We are currently investigating the cause and will post any updates. |

Update - April 6, 2007 - All servers were brought back up by 12:30 p.m. |

April 5, 2007 - Due to the power being turned off in the Jordan building on Friday (April 6th), all the servers and routers will need to be shut down. This means the following will not be available during the time that the power is off: Blackboard, Email, CampusWEB, Powerfaids, AIMS, EMAS, and Diebold. Cash registers can still be used they will just be working offline. This will mean all network and Internet access on the Mount Vernon Campus will not be available as well. Everything will be brought down around 7:30 AM on Friday and brought back up around noon or once power has been turned back on.
Note: The BPC web site will not be down for those who will have Internet access at that time. |
