Brewton-Parker College: A Private Christian/Baptist College located in Southeast Georgia

Class Notes 1940's

Mary Louise (Durrette) Hulsey, 1944: Mary is a young-at-heart member who has sung in the First Baptist Gainesville's choir for 62 years. In addition to singing in the choir, for 29 years, she coordinated FBC's children's choirs, was a member and active participant of the Gainesville Georgia Chorale for 20 years, and their pianist for about 37 years. She says that she can't ever remember a time when she didn't sing...even as a very small child. Also, Mary and her husband John Burl Hulsey Sr., (1944) are looking forward to another celebration soon. In May, 2008, the couple will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple has 5 children: Carolyn (deceased), John Jr., David, Beth and Wes, 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
