The Brewton-Parker College Visiting Writers Fellowship

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Mr. George and Mrs. Sara Chapman, the Brewton-Parker College writing community sponsors an annual Visiting Writers Fellowship.

Visiting writers bring distinct voices and unique approaches to art which benefit the writers on campus by encouraging them to develop their own strong and unique voices.  All interested students can arrange to have one-on-one meetings to discuss text, story-telling, marketing, and the writing life.  The Fellowship adds depth to the full campus community because every visiting artist meets with film and writing classes to discuss the theoretical urgencies of text making as well as to discuss the business realities of artists in the United States.  These classes are open to all students, faculty, and staff at BPC.  Finally, the local community benefits from this fellowship because each visiting writer provides some sort of pubic service.  This may include a reading, a viewing, a workshop, visits to local schools, and other such opportunities.  There is always a Q&A segment and time set aside to visit.

The Arts and Letters faculty makes every effort to bring enthusiastic and serious craftpersons to campus on fellowship.  Please feel free to contact any member of our division if you have questions.  In the meantime, enjoy the web-encounter, and thank you for supporting our distinctive approach to learning at BPC.
