BARONS BASEBALL

Rains bringing needed moisture are wreaking havoc on Brewton-Parker College's baseball and softball schedules.
The Barons baseball team on Monday took two games from Edward Waters in action at Liberty County and then lost the lone game against Faulkner that wasn't canceled.
Brewton-Parker beat Edward Waters 4-3 and 11-1 in games for the first time played in front of their fans at the college's external campus.
The Barons headed to Montgomery, Ala., for a three-game series that weather reduced to a lone game.
Faulkner claimed a 5-0 victory and moves to 35-9 (13-3) on the season.
The Barons are at 15-27-1 (6-10) as they work through the Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference schedule.
During the upcoming Alumni Weekend, the Barons will face Emmanuel College for a series of three games.
Rain canceled a portion of the fastpitch softball games, with the team splitting the four games it played.
The Lady Barons took two games from Wesleyan by identical 4-3 scores and then lost a pair to nationally ranked Georgia Southwestern by scores of 1-0 and 6-2.
The team is 13-18 (1-11) on the season and are coming off a tough weekend against stingy competition.
The team is making preparations for an important string of home games as the team plays in front of Alumni Weekend crowds for bouts with Faulkner on April 17, Emmanuel on April 19, and Spring Hill on April 20.

Brewton-Parker College baseball fans gathered last week at Liberty County High School as the Barons hosted Edward Waters. The Barons game helped students at Brewton-Parker's Liberty County Campus get a feel of collegiate athletics.

Brewton-Parker College pitcher Trae Wiggins fires a strike in last week's action at Liberty County. The freshman lefthander from Stockbridge, Ga., earned a 4-3 victory as the Barons played their first game for fans of Brewton-Parker's external campus.
