Sometimes you don't get what you want.
Brewton-Parker College's baseball team came off a sweep of the Southern Wesleyan Warriors hoping to travel to Southern Tech and continue the streak.
A week ago the Barons were at the top of the Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference's standings, tied for second.
But instead of pulling out the brooms and pulling off another sweep, the Barons ran into a hot team of Runnin' Hornets.
Southern Tech claimed all three games from the weekend series by scores of 20-1, 8-2 and 15-5.
The Barons record now stands at 11-21-1 (6-6) and are tied in the conference with Shorter for 5th place.
"The team is getting a lot of confidence, which is going to help us through the remainder of the schedule," said Baron coach Chad Parker.
"We have played a lot of good teams," said Parker, "and the experiences caused the kids to do a lot of growing up."
The Barons are preparing for a long road trip. The team will log games against Augusta State, Emory University, Claflin University, Thomas College, and Auburn University-Montgomery before returning home April 8 to host Edward Waters.

Brewton-Parker pitcher Craig Trent, a freshman left-hander from Chattanooga, Tenn., fires a strike in recent action against Southern Wesleyan. The Barons claimed wins in each of the three games to move into second place in the GACC.
