Building Character While  Building Houses

On Saturday the Baron Baseball Team worked on their mission to build mind, body, and spirit by building houses for Habitat for Humanity.  Team members spent the day working on homes in the Statesboro, Georgia area.  Around 8:00 the team had a short meeting with the Habitat Leaders.  Then around 8:30 the work began.  The team split up into four groups.  Group one was putting a roof on a small shed behind one of the houses.  Group two was in charge of putting siding on another house.  The third group was working inside a house putting up molding and trim.  The fourth group was cleaning up around all the houses.  “It is great to get our guys out into the community to help others” we were not only building houses we were building character. states Brant.  “I like to get our guys away from campus and get a real world experience working as a team helping others.”  Brant hopes that they will be able to work with Habitat for Humanity in the future.
