Afiya Castle
#5 Alfiya Castle

Afiya Castle comes to us from Port of Spain, Trindad where she grew up with her parents, three sisters and one brother.  The Castle family enjoyed picnics at the botanical gardens and trips to the beach.

Castle’s family was always sports crazy. One sister plays netball (a variation on basketball) and of course Castle and the whole family enjoy playing soccer.

Castle started playing soccer with her father, family and friends at an early age.  When Castle was 11 years old she joined the Malick Secondary Comprehensive school soccer team.  Malick then went on a three year campaign of winning every major high school championship on the island.  Castle was selected to play for the Trinidad U-19 national team at the age of 17 and continued with that team until she graduated from high school.  Castle also played club soccer from age 15 with Real Dimension F.C. as a midfielder.

Castle chose to attend Brewton-Parker because of the Christian environment.  Castle believes in always putting God first in her life. At BPC, she will study accounting on her way to a business degree.  Upon graduation she plans to return to Trinidad and follow a career in business working as an accountant.
