Sophomore Carly Colombero was born in Brownsburg, Indiana. Her family moved from there to Buford, Ga. three years ago.  Her father is in the sales promotion business and works on trade shows and exhibitions; her mom manages a Dairy Queen.  Colombero comes from a soccer-playing family as her older sister played at Lander College and her brother is currently playing at Newberry.

Aside from soccer, Colombero enjoys participating in youth group activities at her church – Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville.  She has been on several mission trips with the group.

Colombero started playing soccer in Indiana at the age of four and played recreationally until the seventh grade when she joined a club team that traveled to games and tournaments around Indiana.  In Georgia she played for the Lawrenceville YMCA

Excel soccer team and played for Dacula High School. At Dacula, Colombero started out on the JV team in her sophomore year then progressed to the varsity. She played as a defender and even pitched in to play goalkeeper when required.

At Brewton-Parker, Colombero came in as a freshman and played left back.“I like defense” said Colombero. During the 2004 season she had the opportunity defend against many of the best right forwards in the NAIA. “We play teams that feature national team players from all over the world up top,” said Glass “Carly matches up very well with them.”

Colombero is a Senator in the Brewton-Parker Student Government Association, and an editor of the school literary magazine - The Oracle. She is majoring in education and plans to become a teacher.
