#17 Courtney Gurley

Courtney Gurley was born in Marietta, GA where she lives with her parents. Her dad is Territory Sales Manager for Insight USA and her mom works for BB&T, a North Carolina based bank. Both parents are Atlanta natives. She enjoys all outdoor sports and activities and has two dogs, Shelley and Penny.
Gurley attended Sprayberry High School where she played JV soccer her first year and Varsity her remaining three years. She was recognized as a “scholar-athlete” for all four years and was voted MVP her sophomore year. She was also a Sprayberry Band member for two years and belonged to the “Sting” and “Great” clubs.
Gurley played seven years recreational soccer and five years of GYSA Athena select soccer for the East Cobb YMCA. She was also an assistant coach for a U-12 boy’s team at the ECYMCA.
During her soccer career, she has played all soccer positions but during her last three years of club and high school soccer, she focused her efforts on center midfield, stopper and sweeper.
Her ECYMCA club team finished second in the Great Carolina Shootout held at Myrtle Beach, SC in 2005. The team also picked up second place trophies in the Athens Invitational 2006 in Athens, GA and first place in the Athens Finale Tournament in 2006.
Gurley will study business at Brewton Parker. After college she intends to pursue a career in Business Management, travel and see the world.
