#21 Mallory Lashley

Mallory will be entering Brewton-Parker in the fall as a freshman. She is from Guntersville, Alabama; where she lives with her parents and brother, Trey. Her mother, Ginger, is a partner in Mortgage Partners, LLC located in Guntersville, and her father, Jim, is a line foreman for Cullman Electric Cooperative in Cullman, AL. Trey will be a junior attending Jacksonville State University in the fall. She also has an older brother, Jason, who graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in civil engineering.
Guntersville is located on the largest lake in the state of Alabama. Being born and raised on the lake, Mal enjoys boating, jet sking, and spending time with her family and friends. She is a lifeguard through the summer at Gunters Landing Country Club in Guntersville.
At Guntersville High School, Mal lettered in varsity soccer as an 8th grader, and was the starting goalie on the varsity team her freshman through senior years. She served as captain of the team from 2005-2007. She made All County Academic Athlete three years, All State Soccer as a junior, and All County Soccer as a sophomore. She led her team to a “Final Four” finish as a junior, and an “Elete 8" finish as a senior. The final game ended in a five goal shoot-out; however, Guntersville ended up ranked # 2 in the state after playoffs. She served as a cheerleader for the Guntersville Wildcats football and basketball teams for five years. The Wildcats were state champions in football her senior year and she received a state-champ ring for cheering. She received Varsity Cheerleading Superior Award, Spirit Award, MVP Cheerleader, and was a member of the squad receiving 2nd place in cheer competition.
Mal served on “The Marshall” staff all four years in high school. As a Marshall staff member she was responsible for the publication of the yearbook and the school paper, as well as writing weekly articles for the local newspaper. She was also elected “Miss Marshall Staff” and represented her class during homecoming week. She hopes to use her writing skills while at Brewton-Parker.
Mal never played club soccer, but started playing recreation league soccer at age 5. She played on co-ed teams until playing varsity soccer.
Mal plans to major in law, with a minor in journalism. Her future plans include completing her education at Brewton-Parker, attending law school at The University of Alabama, and returning home to Guntersville to practice law.
