Dr. Don Wallace is a Professor of Communication and teaches courses for the Communication degree. He has taught at BPC since 1986. Dr. Wallace had a strange background as a booking agent, advertising creator, actor, musician, and professional student before the process of elimination left him in the field of higher education. He holds a B.S. in Mass Communication/ Advertising, an M.S. in Interpersonal Communication, and a Ph.D. in Communication Theory from Florida State University where he did not play football. He has received several teaching awards, developed a curriculum for the Communication degree, and served as advisor to Gamma Beta Phi, First Stage Productions, local civic organizations, BCM, college drama productions, and other college-related programs. Dr. Wallace directs a Christian Drama Ministry on campus called, “Glimpses of Truth” which he started 13 years ago as a cooperative effort between the Communication program and the Baptist Campus Ministry. Dr. Wallace is Parliamentarian for the faculty assembly and conducts workshops in Parliamentary Procedure. He has developed seminars in communication and spoken for community and church groups from Seattle, Washington, to Biloxi, Mississippi. He is active in local churches and served as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Glenwood, Georgia for 15 years. He plays guitar, bass, dulcimer, harmonica, piano, and performs with his brother, Dave, on the coffee house circuit and is often found playing classic acoustic music in local restaurants. Other hobbies include photography, pottery, and other music related activities. He lives with his wife, Sherri, in Mt. Vernon and has two grown children who attended Brewton-Parker.
