Benefits of Bulk Mailings
Below are facts and benefits
for both Standard and First Class mail. Training will be
made available for preparation of mailings.
Benefits of Standard Mail (formerly Bulk Mail) Vs. First
Class Mail
Standard Mail
- cost - .165 per piece
- mailings of identical
weight , size and content
- minimum shipment – 200
pieces or 50 lbs of qualifying mail
- printed envelopes
must have the postage paid designation with permit
number and
ADDRESS SERVICE REQUESTED
printed under the return address
- envelop size – standard
# 10
- a return envelope
(standard # 9) can be included
- qualifying mail:
letters, circulars (folded printed items), items cannot
be handwritten
(address can
be handwritten)
- incorrectly addressed
items will be forwarded to the correct address, if
known, and
BPC will be
notified of the corrected
address, if known for an additional
cost of .70 per piece
- mail has to be sorted
by zip code, boxed, strapped (in official USPS
letter boxes)
and mail center
designated (Macon, Jacksonville,
etc.) before being taken to
the Mount
Vernon Post Office (permit on file)
First Class
- cost .37 per
piece for one (1) ounce – price changes
incrementally by .23 per ounce
- qualifying mail:
letters, bills and statements, personal correspondence,
circulars,
typed and hand written items
