BREWTON-PARKER COLLEGE CAMPUS STORE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of the Campus Store is to provide students, staff and faculty members textbooks and other related academic tools which enhance the educational and collegiate experience, to provide all personnel office supplies and, to offer other related merchandise and gifts with excellent customer service.

 

CAMPUS STORE

The Campus Store, located in the Phillips Student Center, is institutionally owned and operates as a self-supporting facility for the use and benefit of the College community.  The Campus Store provides textbooks, and educational supplies necessary to support Brewton-Parker College and its instructional programs.  In addition, paperback books, school and office supplies, study aids, personal care items, BPC clothing and assorted college and gift items may be found.

STORE HOURS

The main Campus Store’s normal hours of operation are 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Please note these hours are for all semesters.  Extended hours are offered at the beginning of each semester.

 

TEXTBOOK BUY–BACK

On–campus buy-back begins during the last week of classes and continues through the last day of final exams.  Off-campus buy-back is announced in the schedule provided by the External Programs Office on main campus.  Please contact the External Programs office at 912.583.3166 for more information.

 

AVAILABILITY

Every attempt is made to have all required/recommended textbooks and supplies available at the beginning of the semester.  Occasionally, some items may not be available due to one or more of the following reasons:

 

  • Publisher or vendor is out of stock
  • Unanticipated enrollment in a course
  • Partial or misdirected shipments
  • Late textbook or merchandise adoptions

 

Textbooks for classes held at the Liberty County, Newnan, Norman Park, and Savannah sites will be sold at the respective sites.  In most situations, the textbooks will not be available at the main Campus Store.

PAYMENT FOR PURCHASES

Personal checks, cash, debit/credit cards are accepted for the amount of purchase.  All checks must be made payable to Brewton-Parker College.  A current valid ID is required for check approval.  Counter checks and two party checks are not accepted.

Brewton-Parker College student charges are allowed during the first 10 days of classes for purchases of textbooks and school supplies.  A valid BPC ID (for on campus students) or current valid driver’s license (for off campus students) and proof of enrollment in a class or classes are required to charge purchases to student accounts.  All accounts must be in good standing with the Business Office.

 

TEXTBOOK REFUND POLICY FOR ALL STUDENTS:

 

Textbooks purchased at the beginning of each semester may be returned for a refund subject to the following conditions:

  • All requests for refunds MUST be accompanied by the original cash register receipt or credit card receipt.
  • Full price refunds will be refunded on new books within the first 10 days of classes provided they are returned in new condition with no writing or markings of any kind.  Used books are fully refundable provided they are returned in the first 10 days of classes and that they are in saleable condition.
  • If a book has been written in, 25% will be deducted from the purchase price.
  • All new and used price labels must remain in place.
  • All shrink-wrapped textbooks must be returned in their original condition with the wrapping unbroken for full refund within the first 10 days of classes.
  • Defective new books will be replaced at no charge during the semester of use.  Defective used books will be handled as each incident is reported to the Campus Store staff.
  • If the class is cancelled please contact the Campus Store within 10 days for instructions on how to return books.

 

REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS ARE BASED ON FACULTY SELECTION.  THE CAMPUS STORE ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO ATTEND CLASS BEFORE PURCHASING BOOKS.
