Student Professional Organizations

Candidates are encouraged to participate in one of the following professional organizations:

Student Professional Association of Georgia Educators (SPAGE)
Student Georgia Association of Educators (GAE)

All Candidates are members of the college's Teacher Education Club which meets montly during the academic year.

Education majors at Brewton-Parker College are required to join the professional organization of their choice for the purpose of:

  • receiving $1,000,000.00 in liability insurance coverage for professional lab
  • experience in the public schools
  • keeping the education major aware of current issues in public education through publications provided by the professional organization
  • initiating a feeling of professionalism in the student through attendance at conferences, meetings, retreats, workshops, and conventions sponsored by the professional organization
