How
to Request a Pin Number
If you want to sign your FAFSA electronically, first request
a Federal PIN number at www.pin.ed.gov.
1. One request should be made
for the student and another request should be made for the
parent
2. A PIN number can be used
to:
- Sign your FAFSA electronically
- Correct your FAFSA on the
Internet
- View information on the
Internet about federal loans and grants you have received
3. DO NOT SHARE YOUR
PIN NUMBER WITH ANYONE
- This number is your signature
to the Federal government for all documents completed
on the Internet.
4. You will receive your
PIN number(s) in the mail a couple of weeks after you submit
your request.
