Preparing your timesheet

Feel free to make copies of the blank timesheet before you begin.

If you need another blank timesheet, it is available for download at this link.

Always use blue or black ink to complete your timesheet.

Notice that the workweek begins on Thursday and ends on Wednesday. This is because timesheets are turned in every other Wednesday.

Refer to the model below for assistance in completing your timesheet.

Sign in or out on the quarter hour. Round your work times to the nearest 15 minutes.

When working at two different times during the day, use slashes. Note the slashes indicating that the person worked from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. but came back at 2 p.m. and worked until 4 p.m.

Do not write on the back of the timesheet or record any time outside of the boxed area provided.

     Timesheets are due bi-weekly.

Timesheets must be turned in by 5 pm on the due date.

Both the student and supervisor must sign the timesheet.

Doubled check your timesheet for accuracy. Your signature attests to the accuracy of the time reported and that the work has been done in a satisfactory manner.

It is the supervisors responsibility to submit the timesheets to the Payroll Office. The timesheets may be:

         Sent through inter-campus mail

         Hand-delivered by faculty or staff.

Under no circumstance may the student worker hand deliver the timesheet to the Payroll Office.

Unsigned timesheets will be returned to the supervisor for his/her signature, or the student will be called into the business office to sign the timesheet, depending on which signature is missing.
