Submissions

The Journal of the Georgia Philological Association welcomes submissions from all scholars interested in any of the allied fields of philology.  Submissions are accepted year round;  submissions received after May 1st of each year will be considered for the next annual issue.  We employ a blind submission process and publish only after peer review.  To submit to the upcoming journal, follow these steps:

1. Paper submissions

Send two copies of the proposed paper to:

Editor

Journal of the Georgia Philological Association

BPC #2092

PO Box 197

Mount Vernon, Georgia 30445

On the cover letter, include:

Your name as you wish it to appear in print

The Title of your paper

Your phone number

An e-mail address

Your academic affiliation

Your address

A secondary address, if possible

Manuscript requirements

Send two copies of the paper in MLA citation format.

Both must be "blind": without the author's name appearing on any page or indicated in the body of the text.  Submitted manuscripts will not be returned unless an SASE with sufficient return postage is included.  If there are photographs or images that are integral to the paper, they must accompany the manuscript and should be appropriately licensed for republication.  If images need to be returned, include a separate SASE.

2. Electronic submissions

Electronic submission may be made to the journal by e-mailing the editors. Use the word "Submission" in the subject line of the e-mail.  Include a cover letter, either as an attachment or in the body of your e-mail. Cover letters must include, per print submissions, your name as you wish it to appear, title of your paper, a phone number, a preferred e-mail address for correspondence, your academic affiliation, and a surface address.

Electronic manuscript requirements

The journal accepts submissions in Adobe portable document format (.pdf files) or in any version of Microsoft Word from Microsoft Word for Windows '98 onward.  The attached manuscript must be "blind": with no author's name or indications in the text body.  Any figures or illustrations should be sent as a separate file as well and should be in printer-ready formats (including .tiff, .gif, .jpg, and .psd, but no proprietary format).
