ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY & MATHEMATICS

Position Summary

Position Summary

Brewton-Parker College currently is seeking to fill a full-time faculty position in the Division of Mathematics & Natural Sciences for fall 2016.  Salary and academic rank will be determined commensurate with academic credentials, experience, and other factors.

To begin August 10, 2016, duties include teaching a variety of courses in chemistry and mathematics in support of the general education core, a major in biology, and minors both in biology and the physical sciences.  Qualified candidates must have at least a master’s degree in chemistry, or in the chemical sciences or another allied discipline with a graduate major (at least 18 credit hours) in the required teaching field.  Doctoral credentials are preferred, as are additional graduate qualifications in mathematics, related work experience in the field, professional licensure and certifications, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes.

CLOSING DATE:

Review of applications will begin May 23, 2016, and continue until the position is filled.

Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach (Full-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach position is a full-time 12 month position. Brewton-Parker, a member of the Southern States Athletic Conference, is an NAIA Division I institution located in Mt. Vernon, GA. Coaches are responsible for all aspects of the development of our intercollegiate track and field/cross country programs, including but not limited to: coaching, including recruiting/retention of qualified student-athletes, scheduling, budget management, maintaining student eligibility and academic progress, discipleship of student-athletes, and public relations for each program in accordance with NAIA regulations, camps, building community support for the program, and knowing applicable NAIA rules. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred
  • Previous successful coaching on the college level is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Knowledge of computer applications, fund raising, event planning and camps, and financial management
  • Able to work weekends/evenings and travel
  • Demonstrated commitment to or experience working with diverse populations

ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF COMMUNICATION

Position Summary:

Brewton-Parker College currently is seeking to fill a full-time faculty position in the Division of Humanities & Behavioral Sciences for fall 2016.  Salary and academic rank will be determined commensurate with academic credentials, experience, and other factors. To begin August 10, 2016, duties include teaching a variety of courses both in support of the general education core and in the college’s bachelor of arts degree progam in Communication. 

Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in the field of Communication or in an allied discipline with a graduate major (at least 18 credit hours) in the required teaching field.  The successful candidate will serve as program coordinator for the Communication major, responsible for curriculum development and review, and also as faculty advisor for Glimpses of Truth, a student-led theater arts ministry.  The Communication program  is housed in the Humanities area of the Division of Humanities & Behavioral Sciences, and the successful candidate also may be elgible to chair the division for an additional stipend.

Building Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:

This is a full time position reporting to the director of Plant Operations and is responsible for performing a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services.

Responsibilities & Duties

Working knowledge and workmanship is required in the following areas:

  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills required
  • Perform work on special projects as assigned;
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on facility equipment and grounds.
  • Ability and initiative to work under general supervision
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.

 

Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma/GED and 2-5 years of maintenance experience.  Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
