John Reed, Adjunct Instructor, Brass

John Reed, Adjunct Instructor of Brass teaches applied trumpet and performs with the Brass Ensemble. Mr. Reed holds degrees from Troy State University and Florida State University, and has taught in South Georgia’s public schools for the last twenty-four years. He is currently the Associate Director of Bands at Jeff Davis High School in Hazlehurst, where his duties include recruiting, music arranging, and instruction at all levels from 5th grade through high school.

A member of the International Trumpet Guild, Music Educators National Conference, and the Georgia Music Educators Association, Mr. Reed keeps a busy schedule writing, teaching, and performing. His wife Susie, teaches science at Jeff Davis Middle School, and his stepson Justin, is a corporate pilot in Savannah.
