Fall 2009

It has been a joy to welcome a good group of new students to our family!

We are grateful for the opportunity to help these folks find their place among us.  We are also excited about several new adjunct faculty who have joined us, including Kathy Duren, piano, Thomas Brown, woodwinds, Scott Heaton, guitar, Anna Thibeault, woodwinds, and Christopher Probst, brass.  Also joining us this year is Luther Wardlaw as instructor of a brand new course called "Introduction to Recording Techniques."  We believe it could be the beginning of some exciting new possibilities.

The fall calendar includes some wonderful opportunities, including faculty recitals by Dr. Pierce Dickens and Dr. Kandie Smith, and a presentation of "Amahl and The Night Visitors" by our Lyric Theater.  There will also be concerts by the Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir.  These and other events are listed on the Concert and Recital Schedule.  All concerts and recitals are free and open to the public unless indicated otherwise.  For more information, call the music office at (912)583-3136.  We hope to see you at these events!

Looking ahead, we are very excited about the invitation our Concert Choir has received to perform at Carnegie Hall in June!  The choir will present their own concert under the direction of Dr. Sonja Sepulveda, as well as a performance of The Rutter Requiem under the direction of John Rutter!

More details soon!
