BPC Community Wind Ensemble Takes the Stage

MOUNT VERNON—Joyous music resounded throughout the auditorium as the BPC Community Wind Ensemble entertained a crowd on Monday, April 23 in the Gilder Recital Hall on the Mount Vernon campus. The ensemble is comprised of students, alumni, and other area musicians.
Under the direction of Mark Baskin, BPC Adjunct Professor, the group performed an inspiring mix of classical symphonies including “The Phantom Regiment” by Leroy Anderson, “Symphony No. 5 ½” by Don Gillis, “The Light Eternal” by James Swearingen, and many others.
The BPC Community Wind Ensemble includes the following individuals:
Flutes: Cynthia Brown (Athens) and Christina Scott (Cantonsville, MD); Clarinets: Jelon Dixon (Hazlehurst), Tiffany Gamble (Keysville), and Bonnie Peery (Mount Vernon); Alto Saxophone: Brianne Wilson (Vidalia); Trumpets: Kaci Rudd (Mount Vernon) and Scott Rudd (Mount Vernon); French Horn: Carol Jones (Mount Vernon); Euphonium: Dallas Wilke (Collins); Electric Bass: Michael Matthews (Waynesboro); Percussion: Rekeal Bailey (Athens), Katie Johnson (Alamo), and Daniel Manic (Alamo).
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
