Georgia Baptist Advisory Council meets on BPC campus

MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College hosted the fall meeting of the Georgia Baptist Advisory Council on the Mount Vernon campus Aug. 28. The meeting serves to keep the 91 Baptist Associations around the state in touch with the happenings at the south Georgia Baptist college and its six external sites.
According to meeting organizer Dr. Charles Strickland, former executive assistant to the President for Church Relations at BPC, the council is comprised of pastors, associational missionaries or lay leaders from around the state.
Those attending the event, in addition to BPC President Dr. David R. Smith and Dr. Strickland, included: Tony Romans, Atlanta Association of Southern Baptists; Jimmy Cook, Mill Baptist Association; David Hagan, Tattnall-Evans Association; Kenneth Brooks, Pulaski-Bleckley Association; Gary Leutzinger, Middle Baptist Association; Kenny Peters, Rehoboth Association; Joe McGee, Consolation Association; Paul Lewis, Washington Association; Clay Layfield, Dodge Association; Robbie Smith, Daniell Baptist Association; Warren Taylor, Altamaha Baptist Association; Bob Murphy, Ebenezer Association; Mark Grinstead, Ebenezer Association and Glenn Wallace, BPC Campus Minister.
Dr. Strickland left his position at BPC last week to accept the pastorate at Whitefield Baptist Church in Anderson, S.C. He is a BPC alumnus and former trustee.
