BPC Education Division has LiveText workshop for adjunct faculty

Brewton-Parker College’s Education Division conducted a LiveText Database Management System Workshop for its external program adjunct instructors Aug. 27 in the Jordan Technology Center on the Mount Vernon campus.

Some of the documents maintained in the LiveText system include student portfolios with artifacts, student and faculty assessments, course standards alignment, and course syllabi, all accessible to students and education faculty at the Mount Vernon, Norman Park, and Liberty County education centers.

The system also manages aggregated data for all three education sites.

The workshop was initiated by the Mount Vernon campus education faculty, Dr. Bowman Barr, interim chair; Dr. Melba S. Claxton, professor and Early Childhood Education Coordinator; Dr. Norma Harper, associate professor; Skye Jordan, assistant professor; and Barbara Reid, assistant professor, middle grades coordinator and director of student teaching.

It was coordinated by Dr. Noel Carroll, professor and off-campus education programs coordinator, and Annette Smith, assistant to the coordinator. The hands-on workshop was conducted by Reid.

Other attending faculty were: Dr. Mark Bowdidge, assistant professor of music; Dr. Kevin McCranie, assistant professor of history, representing Social and Behavioral Sciences; and Zeke Addison, associate professor of art, representing Arts and Letters.

Liberty County education faculty attending were Dr. Kay Lagasse, assistant professor; and adjunct professors Brenda Colbert, Rebecca Floyd and Dr. Annie Wellborn.

Norman Park adjunct faculty attending were Dr. Charline Robinson, Connie Crawford, Leslie Gilbert, Kathryn Marshall, Dr. Laura Pope, Susan Reagan and Julia Strickland.
