Saturday Science Rocket Fun set for Oct. 8 at BPC
A morning of Saturday Science Rocket Fun
for area youth in grades 4-6 is planned for Oct. 8 at Brewton-Parker College,
announced Dr. David McMillin, chair of
BPC’s mathematics and natural science division.
The event, in conjunction with the Heart of Georgia Youth Science and Technology
Center, is from 9 a.m. to noon in the Morgan-Moses Math and Science Center
on the Brewton-Parker campus in Mount Vernon.
Students will participate in hands-on rocket activities with safe and fun
materials. Each student will build his or her own rocket and launch it with
help of certified teachers. Rockets will be launched at 11:30 a.m. and the
public is invited to attend the launches.
A $10 fee covers expenses for the rocket materials. Space is limited. All
students must be registered before the date of the event.
