BPC Science Club collects goods for Food Bank
An on-campus canned food drive at Brewton-Parker College sponsored by the college's Discovery Science Club and the Science and Math faculty was deemed a success by Dr. Jon Shuman, the project's coordinator.
"We would like to thank the Brewton-Parker administration, faculty, Staff and Students for making this year’s canned food drive a success," said Shuman, an assistant professor of biology at Brewton-Parker who estimated that at least 50 pounds of food were collected.
"The Food Bank associated with Mount Vernon First Baptist and Methodist churches asked us to express their gratitude for a very generous gift of food that replenishes their stocks for the Christmas holidays. The generous gifts of food helped to restock the shelves at the food bank, and will bring nourishment and comfort to the unfortunate.
"Thank you very much for sharing with those in need!"
Members of the Discovery Science Club are: Kaleb Altman, Janine Baldwin, Josh Ballard, Brooke Butler, Brittany Euler, Sandra Hall, Elizabeth Hinely, Ashley Johnston, Jenny Miles, Stephen Nichols, Carlos Ortiz, Shely Ratliff, Trivia Richardson, Baker Romine, Adrienne Sims and Christina Vasquez.
