Brewton-Parker College Homecoming Court honorees, announced Feb. 18 in Gilis Gymnasium of the Snooks Student Activities Center on campus in Mount Vernon, are: (from left) freshman class favorites Christi Castleberry and Ryan McWhorter, sophomore favorites Rachel Underwood and Michael Crosby, Homecoming Queen Stacey Belflower and King Justin McCalla, senior favorites Andrea Gaston and Jeremy Curtis, and junior favorites Kasey Roach, Jonathan Lewis and Krista Lee Vickery.
Belflower, McCalla reign as Brewton-Parker Homecoming royalty
Stacey Belflower of Warner Robins was crowned queen of Brewton-Parker College’s Homecoming Court and Justin McCalla of Elberton was crowned king during a Feb. 18 ceremony in Gillis Gymnasium of the Snooks Student Activities Center on the Mount Vernon campus.
Belflower and McCalla, both seniors, were selected in a student election.
Belflower is a Communications major who is active in Baptist Campus Ministries leadership and intramurals and is the women’s ministry leader. McCalla is a Middle-Grades Education major who is a Brewton-Parker yell leader and a member of the Student Activities Committee, Baptist Campus Ministries and the College Choir.
Class favorites also were elected by students and announced during the homecoming ceremony.
Senior class favorites were Andrea Gaston, a Psychology major from Martinez, and Jeremy Curtis, a Christian Studies major and Music minor from Hoboken and the lead singer for the “Jeremy Curtis Worship Experience” band, to which eight other court members either claimed membership, aspirations of such, or just their support in keeping the homecoming crowd entertained.
Junior class favorites selected resulted in a tie for the favorite female student between Kasey Roach, an Early Childhood Education major and Christian Studies minor from Pooler; and Krista Lee Vickery, a General Studies major from Jacksonville, Fla. The favorite junior male student was Jonathan Lewis, a Communications major from Warner Robins.
Sophomore class favorites named are Rachel Underwood, a Psychology major and Christian Studies minor from Tularosa, N.M., and Michael Crosby, Christian Studies major from Cartersville.
Freshman class favorites named are Christi Castleberry, a General Studies major from Thomasville, and Ryan McWhorter, a Business major and Christian Studies minor from LaGrange.
