BPC’s Annual Fund Exceeds Chairman’s Challenge
Taylor Hereford
BPC Director of Marketing
Gary Campbell, chairman of the 2006 Brewton-Parker College Annual Fund, issued
a challenge to his committee. He believed the committee, the BPC faculty and
staff, and the surrounding communities could exceed the established goal of
$150,000 and raise $200,000.
Not only was the challenge met, it was exceeded. The final amount raised totaled
$205,250.
“I am extremely gratified with this year’s campaign,” said
Campbell. “Our committee and the staff did an excellent job as evidenced
by the final figure.”
Campbell said that through the committee’s
efforts, more people are learning of the significance of having a four-year
Christian college in this
area.
“We also made great progress in ‘telling the good news’ about
the importance of Brewton-Parker College to our community, and of the fine
work it does to educate our youth with an unapologetically Christian focus,” said
Campbell.
Pamela Davis, Brewton-Parker’s Vice-President for Advancement, is grateful
to all who had a part in exceeding Campbell’s challenge goal.
“Exceeding not only our established goal, but also the challenge goal
set forth by Gary Campbell is a testament not only to the hard work of all
committee members, but also to those who contributed to the Annual Fund,” said
Davis. “When everyone is focused on a common goal and comes together
in support of that common goal, lives are impacted. Not only the lives of our
students, but also the lives of those who live in this area.”
Both Davis and Campbell are appreciative
of Claire Johnson, the Director of the Annual Fund, for her leadership in
this year’s campaign.
“Claire Johnson is a vital part of our team on campus,” said Davis. “She
made a tremendous contribution to the overall success of the campaign through
her tireless efforts of working with the members of the Annual Fund Committee
as well as those on campus.”
“I greatly appreciate the efforts of all involved and want to especially
thank and recognize Claire Johnson for her diligence in organizing and promoting
the Annual Fund,” said Campbell.
Other members of the community who served on the Annual Fund Committee were

Charles Clements, Mr. Steve Dingler, Mr. Wendell Dixon, Mr. Joey Fountain,

in the Snooks Student Activities Center.
