MOUNT VERNON—Patricia Dixon, executive director of the United Way of Toombs-Montgomery-Wheeler Counties, speaks with members of Brewton-Parker College’s administration, faculty and staff Oct. 25 in Gilder Recital Hall.
Dixon said every year the independent, non-profit organization provides financial support for 26 local human-service member agencies, including The Refuge Domestic Violence Shelter, God’s Storehouse, the Paul Anderson Youth Home, Open Doors to the Handicapped and Boys & Girls Club of Toombs County.
Approximately 99 percent of the money the local organization raises goes back to the citizens of the tri-county area it serves.
To learn more about the organization and its 2007 fundraising campaign, contact Taylor Hereford, BPC director of marketing, at 912-583-3217 or Dixon at 912-537-2776.
