Nine students perform in Nov. 10 student recital

MOUNT VERNON—Nine students performed in “A Student Recital” Friday, Nov. 10 in Gilder Recital Hall. Students performing, from left, are Junior David Schmidt, Junior Carey Wilson, Junior Jared Register (seated), Sophomore Monroe Bennett, Freshman Rodney Schramm, Senior Brejoya Perry, Freshman Nicole Mathis and Sophomore Elizabeth Nichols. Schmidt, a tenor, sang “O Del Mio Amato Ben” by Stephano Donaudy. Wilson, a baritone, sang “Sure on this Shining Night” by Samuel Barber. Register, a pianist, performed “Prelude XV in G major, BWV 874” by J.S. Bach. Bennett, a tenor, sang “Go, Lovely Rose” by Roger Quilter. Schramm, a baritone, sang “Leave Me, Loathsome Light” by G.F. Handel. Perry, a soprano, sang “Das Verlassene Magdlein” by Hugo Wolf. Mathis, a mezzo-soprano, sang “American Lullaby” by Gladys Rich. Nichols performed “Sonate pour Flute et Piano” by Frances Poulenc on the flute. Sophomore Katrina Walker, not picture, performed “Four Short Pieces, Prelude” by Howard Ferguson on the clarinet.
