MOUNT VERNON—Dr. Marjorie Dobbin, a former professor of English at Brewton-Parker College, signed copies of her first novel “In the Shadow of Pickle Peak”, an inspirational romance, at the Phillips Student Center on the college’s Mount Vernon campus Nov. 15.
“I was able to see several old friends and co-workers, and by the time the two hours were over, I sold every book that I brought with me,” Dobbin said. “I appreciate Brewton-Parker College’s support and I may even be a guest speaker in a future creative writing class.”
Dobbin retired from Brewton-Parker in 2001 and currently lives in Vidalia with her husband, A.B. Albritton. She will be reading an excerpt of her book at the Vidalia Library Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. The novel is published by PublishAmerica. Contact Dobbin at 912-537-2990 for more information or look up the book’s title on www.amazon.com.
