Baron Singers start the season with Christmas favorites

MOUNT VERNON—The Baron Singers of Brewton-Parker College will herald the season with a concert overflowing with Christmas musical favorites and loads of good cheer Friday, Dec. 8.
The free concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Saliba Chapel on the Mount Vernon campus.
The Baron Singers Christmas Celebration will feature several energetic arrangements of the familiar carols “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, “Angels from the Realms of Glory” and “Go Tell it on the Mountain”, as well as a few “fun” songs including “Man with the Bag” and “Holiday Romance”, said Dr. Glenn Eernisse, Baron Singers director and chair of the college’s Music Division.
The Baron Singers is an auditioned student ensemble, accompanied by student and faculty instrumentalists, well known for its high-energy performances. Dr. Eernisse encourages the community to attend the concert, which is sure to lift the hearts and spirits of many.
“It’s an upbeat, fun family concert that will appeal to all ages. As always, we will have fresh arrangements of some of your favorite Christmas songs and carols, as well as some brand new music for the season,” Eernisse said. “Make plans now to be part of the Baron Singers Christmas Celebration.”
Members of the Baron Singers are John DeBorde, Dallas Wilke, Kolby DePratter, Adrienne Fox, Lauren Knight, Amanda Madson and Nicole Mathis. Baron Singers band members are John Reed, Brian Summerlin, Matt Pittman, Jonathan Lewis, Brandon Herrington, Prof. Armenio Suzano and Dr. Eernisse. The sound technician is Michael Crosby.
