Brewton-Parker College’s Modern Languages Department held its fourth annual Language Appreciation Day (LAD07) March 23 with more than 300 high school Spanish students from six surrounding Georgia schools attending the learning and competitive event.
According to organizer and BPC Spanish professor, James P. Bell Jr., the all-day event was a “success.”
The students competed in teams based on their schools in areas such as reading comprehension and verb conjugation. The winners of this year’s LAD07 are as follows: Claxton High, first; Montgomery County High School, second; and Tattnall County, third.
BPC students from the college’s LASO, or Latin American Student Organization, helped facilitate the competition and activities. Bell thanks every participant for supporting the annual appreciation day.
