Call for instrumentalists for BPC Community Wind Ensemble
By Kelley M. Arnold
Director of News and Public Information
MOUNT VERNON—The conductor of Brewton-Parker College’s prestigious Community Wind Ensemble is seeking new members among the community’s instrumentalists.
Dr. Armenio Suzano, professor of woodwinds and internationally-acclaimed saxophonist, requests anyone interested in pursuing their playing “passion” to contact him at his BPC office.
“BPC’s Music Division is looking for music lovers of all ages who have a passion for Symphonic Band performance, and who – in the normal course of their adult lives – have been deprived of such life-changing, hope-giving, mind-sharpening activity, to apply for membership in our exclusive – and fun-filled – Brewton-Parker College Community Wind Ensemble,” said Dr. Suzano. “The ensemble performs a wide variety of music ranging from classical repertoire to Sousa marches to contemporary composers like Frank Ticheli, Fred Allen and David Holsinger.”
Dr. Suzano explains that membership requires a commitment to weekly rehearsals, held Mondays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the attendance/performance in one concert in the college’s fall semester and two concerts in the spring semester.
For more information, please contact the Division of Music at 912-583-3136 or email music@bpc.edu.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
