MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Office of Student Affairs has been busy this month getting ready for students to return to campus. The latest on their list of “To-Dos” has been to train each residence hall’s student RAs (Resident Assistant) and RDs (Resident Director).
Training included a drug education course, a first aid and CPR course, a session on counseling options and another on how to handle different residence hall situations.
Hope Williamson, who will be an RD in Dowling Hall, is excited about the opportunity to serve students this year in what she finds to be a unique witnessing opportunity.

“The best part of being of RD? Wow! That is hard. There are so many parts that are the best,” she said. “You get to know the students who are in your residence halls and know what they are all about. Also you realize that God has chosen each and every one of these students to be in your paths for such a time as this. These students are to be a part of your life as you are to be a part of theirs. You may need these students, but also these students may need you. You never know what may happen throughout the year or where God is going to take us as we begin our journey here at BPC for our first year or our final year.”
