MOUNT VERNON–It’s not too late to register for classes at Brewton-Parker College.

The main campus in Mount Vernon will be hosting a New Student Registration day Friday, August 17 beginning in the Phillips Student Center at 9 a.m. Call ahead to the Admissions Office for registration information, 912-583-3265. Classes on the Mount Vernon campus begin Monday, August 27. External Programs classes, with sites in Baxley, Glennville, Liberty County, Newnan, Norman Park, and Savannah, begin Monday, August 20.

Those new to BPC and who will be attending the college’s main campus in the fall are invited to the college’s Orientation sessions, beginning on the main campus Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. with dorm move-in.

Fall Orientation 2007, organized by the college’s Office   of Student Affairs, includes many introductory activities which promise to spark new friendships and ease the transition to traditional college life for incoming students.

“It’s important for new students to attend Orientation because it helps students to create new friendships with their peers, learn about the campus and meet some of the faculty and staff they will be working with over the semester,” said Jessica Broughton, assistant to the dean of students.

“It’s a way of welcoming our students into our family atmosphere and they will learn how much the college cares about them during this time.”

The 2007 Orientation Team, made up of current BPC students, is ready to answer any questions and to help with move in. They will also be facilitating the Orientation events, reports Broughton, a ’07 BPC alum. This year’s theme is “Brave New Waters: Your Adventure Starts Here”.
