MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College students, faculty, staff and administration partook in a Medieval Dinner and Celebration hosted by the Division of Arts & Letters Dec. 1. The evening of “food, friends and folly” was held in the Briscoe Center in Mount Vernon.

Faculty and administrators, such as Dr. Cindy Skaruppa, vice president for enrollment services, and Dr. Jon Shuman, assistant professor of biology, showed off their creativity by arriving in medieval attire. (Dr. Skaruppa’s jester costume probably received the most laughs as well.) The authentic menu even offered everyone a chance to sample a piece of an entire roasted pig.
Admission to the evening was two canned goods, which were donated to area families in need. After the “feast”, several shared medieval music and songs with the group. Overall, it was an interesting opportunity for students to find out more about a specific time period.
