BPC Homecoming week: Get in the Spirit!

MOUNT VERNON—The week of Feb. 5 through Feb. 10 is Homecoming Week at Brewton-Parker College. Students will be participating in several activities throughout the week, culminating basketball games against Southern Wesleyan University Saturday, Feb. 10 in the Gillis Gym on the Mount Vernon campus. The Lady Barons take the court at 2 p.m. and the Barons follow at 4 p.m. BPC’s Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned between the games in a ceremony in the gym.

The week’s activities include the following:

  • Monday, Feb. 5 – Dress up theme: Decades Day; Baron Idol, 9 p.m., Gates Auditorium.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 6 – Dress up theme: Represent Your Hometown; Womanless Beauty Pageant, 8 p.m., Briscoe Center
  • Wednesday, Feb. 7 – Dress up theme: Twin Day
  • Thursday, Feb. 8 – Dress up theme: Mix and Match Day
  • Friday, Feb. 9 – Dress up theme: School Spirit Day; Chalk signing, 4 p.m., Snooks Student Activities Center; Bachelor Auction, 7 p.m., Gilder Recital Hall; Bonfire, 9 p.m., Baron Ridge
  • Saturday, Feb. 10 – Women’s Basketball, 2 p.m.; Presentation of 2007 Homecoming Court; Men’s Basketball, 4 p.m.; Homecoming Dance, 8 p.m., Parker Gym

Cost for events is free, with a few exceptions. The Baron Idol, sponsored by Baptist Collegiate Ministries, is $3 admission. The proceeds will go to summer missions. The Student Activities Council is sponsoring the Womanless Beauty Pageant and the Bachelor Auction. Pageant admission and the price of a paddle for the auction is $1 each.
