The spring festival, though not as large as the fall event, was attended by 45 elementary and middle school age children and their parents from the Heart of Georgia area. The fall festival draws over 140 students each year.
“The children, parents and other teachers from the area had a great time and spent a lot of time at the different tables,” said Dr. David McMillin, chair of the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. “The math games or science demonstration tables were operated by students in education courses, particular math and science courses, a representative from The Heart of Georgia Youth Science and Technology Center and BPC faculty. Almost 20 students from BPC had a project in the festival.”
The Heart of Georgia Youth Science and Technology Center, as well as the college’s Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, sponsors the biennial event. The festival was held from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Morgan-Moses Building.
