MOUNT VERNON—The Miami String Quartet performed at Brewton-Parker College March 15 as part of the college’s Dennis and Quinelle Sikes Fine Arts Series.
Praised in The New York Times as having “everything one wants in a quartet: a rich, precisely balanced sound, a broad coloristic palette, real unity of interpretive purpose and seemingly unflagging energy,” the Miami String Quartet has quickly established its place among the most widely respected quartets in America.
The Quartet’s recital at BPC included the works of Haydn, Tchaikovsky and Schubert. The nationally-touring group is composed of Ivan Chan and Cathy Meng Robinson on the violin, Yu Jin, viola, and Keith Robinson, cello.
A complete list of the Division of Music’s spring concerts, recitals and arts series can be found on the division’s website, under the Academics pages, at www.bpc.edu, or by calling the division’s office at 912-583-3136 for more information.
