CLEVELAND, TENN. – Senior guard Warren Beaulah was named to the All-Conference team for the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) at the annual basketball awards banquet Wednesday night.
Beaulah, from Columbus, averaged 17.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Barons (12-19, 8-11 SSAC) this season. He also averaged 1.4 steals per game. He turned in one of his best performances Feb. 15 when he scored 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 76-67 win over Shorter College on Senior Night. During that game, Beaulah was a prefect 10-for-10 at the free throw line.
“Warren deserved this honor,” said head coach Steve Barker. “He was not only our leading scorer, but the leading scorer for the conference. I knew he had a good chance to be named to the team.”
Looking ahead to next season, Barker already realizes the hole that Beaulah will leave as a result of graduation.
“He is a big guard who has the ability to score,” Barker said. “He is going to be very hard to replace.”
