MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Student Action Group on the Liberty County Campus (LCC) has been busy this Thanksgiving season helping various local humanitarian aid agencies. The group gathered food and small children’s toys to make 25 baskets complete with hams and turkeys for local families who are residents of the Tri County Shelter, a domestic violence program, and for residents of Next Step, a homeless prevention program.

BPC students collected food from their peers at the Christian college’s LCC on Oglethorpe Highway, as well as from area businesses. Rick’s Meats of Jesup generously donated 25 hams, and parishioners of Mt. Zion Church donated canned goods and other non-perishable foods. The Student Action Group is led by Lisa Harper, president; Misty Mobley, vice president; Lara Pedraza, treasurer; Anita Harris, secretary; and Alicia Woods, newsletter editor. Dr. Susan Kinsella, coordinator of the Human Services Program at BPC’s LCC, is the faculty liaison.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited, four-year Christian college in south Georgia. To learn more about attending the college, or one of its six external centers and campuses around the state, contact the Office of Admissions at 912-583-3265.
