MOUNT VERNON—The Brewton-Parker College Volleyball Team defeated NCAA Division I Savannah State University, 3-0 (30-24, 30-25, 30-26) Oct. 9 in the Gillis Gymnasium on the Mount Vernon campus.
The match appeared to be a tough fight for the Barons; however, the heart of a Baron never gives up on a fight. This is what head coach Jason Bryant has instilled in his players from the beginning of the season.
“We are beginning to play very well,” says Bryant.
Jenna Kessenich, who scored her 1,000th “kill” earlier in the season, had a total of 15 “kills” for the match.
The home court season ended Oct. 9 with the team’s two seniors, Kessenich and Callie Bynum, being awarded for their hard work and commitment throughout their athletic career at BPC. Kessenich was escorted by her parents, Jim and Martha Kessenich, and Bynum was accompanied by her mother, Bev Bynum. Congratulations to both seniors for their outstanding volleyball career at BPC.
