Student Recital Oct. 5

MOUNT VERNON—Three Brewton-Parker College music students performed in a student recital Oct. 5 in Gilder Recital Hall. These talented musicians prepared a repertoire of impressive pieces. Freshman piano student Brittney Black performed “Gymnopédie No. 2” by Erik Satie. Junior Elizabeth Nichols played selections from “Overture in B minor” on her flute. Sophomore Mandy Madson performed a beautiful vocal piece by Mozart, “Ridente la culma”. Senior Jamie Sexton performed challenging clarinet pieces from Schumann’s “Fantasiestücke Op. 73”. Performing along with these students were accompanists Cathy Rogers and Brandon Herrington. From left are Black, Nichols, Madson and Sexton. (Photo by E’Quain Rhodes)
