MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Mount Vernon campus was recently memorialized on canvas by commissioned artist Sarah Long of Savannah. This is the second piece of fine art Long has produced for the college, the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
The artwork illustrates the college’s main buildings and landmark features in a campus map. Her previous work showed the college “At the Center of it All” in the state of Georgia. Both will be used through the college’s Office of Marketing for admissions and general marketing initiatives, said BPC president Dr. David R. Smith.
“Sarah Long is one of the most talented young artists that I have ever known,” added Dr. Smith. “Her talent is surpassed only by her love for her Lord and her family. We are honored to have her artistic creation to help us market Brewton-Parker College.”
Long is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design. She earned a graduate degree in fine arts with an emphasis in illustration. Her husband, Russ, is an alumnus of Brewton-Parker College. Both are adjunct professors at BPC’s Savannah Center, located inside Calvary of Savannah.
