MOUNT VERNON—Rain showers couldn’t stop Brewton-Parker’s Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences last weekend. The division held its annual Spring Math & Science Festival Saturday, April 5 on the Mount Vernon campus despite the wet conditions.
“This year’s Spring Math & Science Festival was very successful,” said David McMillin, BPC professor of biology. “The attendance was a 123 percent increase relative to last spring’s festival. There were 139 participants overall and 40 demonstrations.”
As usual, the festival was organized by Dr. McMillin and Debra Franks of the Georgia Youth Science and Technology Center. Dr. McMillin notes that all math and science faculty members were in attendance. BPC students volunteered to lead the hands-on learning demonstrations for area school-age children.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited, four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
