BPC Barons flounder in first week of 2008

MOUNT VERNON—Despite a few close games, Brewton-Parker College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams were not able to pull out any wins from their first two home games of 2008.
The men’s team (3-10, 0-3 SSAC) was upset by Reinhardt College Thursday, Jan. 3, 79-73, and again faced defeat Saturday, Jan. 5 against Lee University, 87-59. The BPC women (6-6, 1-4 SSAC) almost edged out Reinhardt College, but ended up losing, 55-50. The ladies also came up short against Lee University, 73-63.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia. Based in Mount Vernon, it has external learning campuses and centers in Baxley, Glennville, Liberty County, Newnan, Norman Park and Savannah.
