MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College music students were joined in a Friday afternoon student recital by the Phoenix Woodwind Quartet Feb. 22 in the Gilder Recital Hall.
The Phoenix Woodwind Quintet, stationed in Atlanta, is an assembly of individuals who have the unique job of performing music for the United States Army on a regular basis. Staff Sergeant Terrina Anderson, Staff Sergeant Beth Hendrix, Sergeant Paul Aviles and Specialist Cory Thompson comprise the group.
As the concert continued, the student portion of the recital began. BPC music students performed repertoire pieces after weeks of hard work and practice. This week, the program featured the talents of freshman Carolyn Doyle, junior Elizabeth Nichols, senior Dallas Wilke, freshman Eli Elliot, senior Jamie Sexton and sophomore Cindy Rollins.
Plan to attend upcoming Division of Music events such as Evensong, Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m. in Gilder Recital Hall and Lyric Theatre Performances, Friday and Saturday, April 11-12 at 7 p.m. also in Gilder Recital Hall.
