Letter from SGA president to BPC students: A call to action
My Fellow Barons,
I firmly believe students are the heart and soul of Brewton-Parker, which is why I encourage you to become a member of one of the many student organizations on campus. I'm delighted that our college has a wide range of organizations, but without student participation, they become baseless. Your voice and active participation is crucial to the growth of this institution.
Becoming a member of a student organization is a prime opportunity to build lasting friendships as well as valuable skills. The Student Government Association (SGA) is devoted to seeing you involved; however, it's up to you to take advantage of the opportunity.
As a freshman, I learned that Brewton- Parker is what you make of it. The more involved I became, the more happy memories I experienced. Despite some difficulties we may face, our college is a wonderful place. Ensuring that the students' voices are heard is our foremost objective, and student organizations serve as a vehicle for achieving that goal.
We all must work together to move our college forward. I plan to play my role by serving you as SGA President and I hope you will help by joining a student organization. I issue this call with a deep interest in you having an amazing time at Brewton-Parker. This is an “all hands on deck” moment for our college, and I know I can count on your support.
Joshua McPhatter, SGA president
