BPC encourages alumni to return for Alumni Weekend 2009
By Kelley M. Arnold
Interim Director of Marketing
Brewton-Parker College will kick off its 2009 Alumni Weekend with a special fireworks show by Jones Lake, says Cynthia Reese, new director of alumni relations at the college.
The Alumni Weekend, slated for March 20-21, will cap off its Friday night opener with fireworks by Falcon Fireworks. The fireworks are just part of a weekend packed with events to celebrate the return of alumni and their families back to Brewton-Parker College. This year marks the college’s 105th year in existence, and the College hopes to make this year’s Alumni Weekend fit the occasion.
“This year’s theme is ‘Spring Into Fun’ and was designed with the whole family in mind,” says Reese. “It’s a chance for you to share your memories of BPC with your family. We’re having all sorts of family-friendly events: a Picnic Supper by Jones Lake, a Mini-Festival for the kids and an afternoon concert featuring the praise band ‘Not About Us’.”
For a complete list of events, which include the traditional Alumni Weekend highlights such as the Tribute Service featuring the Alumni Choir and the annual Alumni Luncheon, go to www.bpc.edu/alumni. Alumni may also register online at that address. If you would like to talk to Reese directly, you may contact her by phone at 1-800-342-1087 ext. 3258 or email her at creese@bpc.edu.
Reese adds the entertainment for this year’s Alumni Luncheon is not one to miss. Area performer and author Elaine Brantley will be “Maxi the Preacher’s Wife”. The Christian comedienne will also sign books following her performance.
“So whether you come by yourself or share this weekend with your family, we have something for everyone. Register online today, and be ready to revisit, reconnect and remember!” encourages Reese.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
